Supporting Our Mission: Stewardship of Time, Talent and Treasure

"The practice of stewardship is important for the mission of the Church and for the spiritual well-being of each individual Christian. Everyone benefits from the sacrificial gift one makes of his time, talent and treasure."

- Pope Benedict XVI

Tithing Chart

Stewardship is a way of life. It involves intentionally giving back to God what He has first given to us. As a parish family, we ask you to consider a pledge that reflects your relationship with God and the mission of our church. We encourage you to take this step in faith as an act of gratitude and trust.

Frequently Asked Questions

This section provides answers to the most common questions regarding the Stewardship of Treasure Offertory Appeal. If you have additional questions, please contact us.

What is the purpose of the Stewardship of Treasure Offertory Appeal?

The appeal aims to encourage parishioners to prayerfully consider their financial support for Saint Peter Saint Joan of Arc Parish in 2026. It seeks to ensure our ministries and programs continue to thrive and grow, as well as to provide a solid financial foundation for the parish.

How are the offertory funds used?

Your annual pledge supports our mission of making disciples of Jesus in the Church. This includes funding parish ministries, outreach programs, faith formation, staff salaries, utilities, maintenance, and administrative costs.

How do I make my pledge?

Kindly mark your calendar for the weekend of December 21st That is when we will make our Stewardship of Treasure commitment. During Mass the weekend of Sunday, December 21st you will be invited to place your offertory pledge in the collection basket. Alternatively, you can mail your pledge to the parish office or complete the digital pledge card linked above.

Why should I make a pledge? I like to just give when I can.

We encourage every parishioner to submit an Offertory Pledge Card to help us plan our budget effectively. Knowing your intended contribution allows the parish to better plan and steward our resources. If it's your first pledge, choose an amount you're comfortable with.

What is the significance of tithing?

Tithing is a Biblical principle that encourages individuals to return 10% of their income to God. While this may seem like a big commitment, the idea is to gradually increase your giving to reach this goal, in line with God's teachings on generosity and stewardship.

What does this have to do with my faith?

Your generosity to our community is an expression of your faith. We give sacrificially as a sign of our trust in God and our commitment to His Church.

How can I determine what percentage of my income I’m giving to the parish?

There is a tithing chart provided with this letter that can help you calculate the percentage of your income you are currently contributing. It’s a helpful tool to understand where you stand and to determine if you can increase your support in the future.

Why should I consider increasing my offertory contribution?

An increase in offertory contributions will help sustain our ministries, including sacramental preparation, youth programs, Bible studies, and other vital parish activities. It will also enable the parish to grow and evangelize, sharing Christ’s love with more people.

What if I am not able to increase my contribution?

Any contribution is a meaningful expression of faith and stewardship. If you are unable to increase your contribution, please know that your current giving is still making a significant impact. We are grateful for the generosity of all our parishioners, regardless of the amount.

Why is this appeal focused on 2026 specifically?

This appeal is designed to help plan and prepare for the parish’s needs in the coming year. By making an offertory commitment for 2026, we can ensure that our finances are stable and that we can continue our important work with confidence and purpose.

What is Pushpay and why is it better than envelopes, checks, or cash?

Pushpay is an automatic electronic monthly payment from your bank account or credit card, providing consistent funding for the parish. It ensures you never forget your contribution and helps you plan your giving while tracking it for tax purposes.

If I sign up for Pushpay, will I still get Offertory Envelopes?

No, signing up for Pushpay means we will stop mailing you Offertory Envelopes, though you may receive one additional mailing due to timing.

If I am already giving via Pushpay, how do I increase my giving amount?

To update your giving, visit our website at spsjoa.org, click "Give," click "Your Account      " and follow sign-in steps. View "Scheduled Gifts," to select the gift to edit, adjust the amount and/or frequency, and click "Save" to complete the update.

Is my gift tax-deductible?

Yes, all contributions to the church are tax-deductible. You will receive or request an end of year contribution report.

Can I change my pledge amount during the year?

Yes, you can adjust your pledge at any time by contacting the parish office.
